Cruisin' Birthday

This is a card that I made for my nephew who turned 10!!! I thought the truck would make a fun card for him!

I used the Loads of Love stamp set along with the Punch Pals set to add the presents in the back of the truck. The saying was from the retired It's Your Birthday set. I started with chocolate chip, baja breeze, whisper white and a bit of kiwi kiss card stock. I ran the baja breeze piece through the Cuttlebug's Swiss dots embossing folder. I also used Spellbinders Nestabilites to create the ovals for the main image. I embossed the edges of the ovals too! I stamped the truck and the saying in chocolate chip. I colored the truck in with baja breeze ink, the ground with kiwi kiss ink, and a blender pen. I used a gel pen (Thanks again Beverly!!!) for the bumper and dazzling diamonds for the wheels!!! I stamped the presents and cut them out for the back of the truck. I wrapped chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon around the center and added my brads to the corners. I had already cut out a slot for the round tab. For the tab part I just stamped the saying and added the tab punched from the round tab punch! Oh yeah and I added the brads again!!!

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a very creative day!!!

Butterflies and Dreams

I finally got the chance to try out one of Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration Challenges!!! I love this color combo so I had to take a shot at it!!! Thanks Kristina!!! Here is what I came up with!!!

I used the stamp set Dreams du Jour. The color of card stock was chocolate chip, regal rose, pink pirouette, certainly celery, and very vanilla. For ink, I used chocolate chip and pink pirouette. I used certainly celery, and cameo coral markers. Ok, so I do not have a pen or ink pad in regal rose...so this was the closest color I had. I guess I am going to have to make another order to SU soon!! Since there is no pink pirouette marker, I used my the ink pad of that color and a blender pen to color in the dreams image. I wish SU made markers for the in colors!!! I used regal rose and chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon!! Love that stuff! If you look closely at the flowers, I add dazzling diamonds with the 2-way glue pen! I also used my scallop edge punch and the scallop circle punch!!

So what do you thinK!!! Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a very creative day!!!

Sweet Bella Challenges

For my card today, I used a couple different challenges!!! The layout is from Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge WSC54. The other challenge that I took on was the Splitcoast Stampers Try an New Technique Challenge for today. The challenge was Faux Dry Embossing TLC183. I have never tried this one before! It was really easy. All you need was card stock, white or vanilla ink, and classic ink that is the color of your card stock! Oh and it also helps to have a Stamp-a-ma-jig too!

For this card, I used lots of my favorite tools and papers! I started out with whisper white, pink pirouette, kiwi kiss, and riding hood red card stock. I use Bella Rose dsp. The two stamp sets I used were Always and Dreams du Jour. First stamped the bird in white ink and then in riding hood red a little off center and to the right to give it the faux embossed look. I created the scallops around the circle with my scallop circle and 1 1/4 circle punches. I added 2 silver brads and paper pierced the edge with my tool and the mat pack. I stamped the saying in riding hood red, then paper pierced it, and layered it with dimensionals to the other cs. I also used kiwi kiss ink on the kiwi kiss cs in the background, but the circle covers that up!

I had fun learning a new technique today! Hope you learned something new today too! Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a very creative day!!!

Baby Shower Card and Onesies

I love the new baja breeze ribbon from Stampin' Up! And I love this combo... Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, and Close to Cocoa. I made this card for a friend's baby shower!

The stamp sets I used were Fun & Fast Notes and Riveted (which is retired). For inks I used Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, and Chocolate Chip. And for card stock I used Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Close to Cocoa, and Whisper White. This was my first chance to use some of the new designer paper from the catalog. It's called Bella Rose. For the main image, I used the blender pen with the Baja Breeze and Kiwi Kiss and then the white gel pen. I used the ticket corner punch and then used dimensionals to layer it onto the other layers. I created the saying by using the 1 1/4 and the 1 3/8 circle punches! I also cut out the circle for the diaper pin and attached it with another dimensional. For the rest of the card I used the 1 3/8 square punch and punched out squares from the Bella Rose dp and Baja Breeze (embossed with Cuttlebug's Swiss Dots folder). I attached those to the close to cocoa cs. I also added the new Baja Breeze striped ribbon!

Sorry about the bad picture, but I also wanted to show you the onesies that I stamped for part of the gift!!! I took this right before I ran out the door for the shower because I forgot to take a picture earlier. Anyway, I used the Bugs and Kisses set and Best Friends Alphabet Lower (retired). I used burnt umber and water lily green Palette Hybrid ink (not from SU). Before I started stamping on them, I washed them and then put them in the dryer with no fabric softner. From what I read this part is important. On the first one I stamped the little one's name along with some bugs. I also stamped some ants on the sleeves on both of them. You can't really see the other one, (sorry!!) but I stamped three of the bugs and the then the saying "bugs and kisses" underneath them. On the back of both of the onesies, I stamped the saying "Cute as a Bug" from the same set!!! I also heat set them in the dryer for 15 minutes to set the ink. I tied them up with the baja breeze striped ribbon.

Love that baja breeze striped ribbon!!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I wish you a very creative day!!!

Western Night

This is my first attempt at a Brayered sky with my new brayer. What do you think? I tried to follow the tutorials from Michelle Zindorf at Freedom in Creating. If you have not checked her out, you should! She is amazing!!! She has a tutorial for each card she creates!

I also use Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge SC189 for the layout!

This was really fun and I look forward to trying this technique again! I used the Bronc Buster stamp set. I used blue bayou, whisper white, and basic black card stock. For inks, I used basic black, soft sky, and blue bayou.

I first stamped the cowboy and horse stamp and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then punched out a circle from scrap paper with my 1 3/8 circle punch and attached it with my 2-way glue pen to create the moon. I waited until the glue was clear so that I would be able to take off the scrap when I was done and it would leave a white circle. Anyway...then I used the brayer starting off with soft sky and then adding the blue bayou to the top. I also ripped some scraps to create the ground and then used the brayer with basic black. I sponged the edges all round the picture. I think I got a little carried away with sponging around the dust area. :O) Then I layered it onto the other card stock! I ran the edges of the card in the basic black for another element!

So what do you think? This was really fun!!! I am going to have to try it again!!!

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a very creative day!!!

A Few Cards by My Mother-In-Law!!

These are a few cards that my mother-in-law made while she was at my house the other day that I wanted to share with you all!!! Didn't she do a fantastic job!!!

The first one she made was "CASEd" (Copy And Share with Everyone) from my uplines upline, Debbie!!! She changed the colors and the saying! She used the Bloomin' Beautiful set along with the retired It's Your Birthday set and the linen background stamp. The colors she used for card stock were wild wasabi, chocolate chip, and whisper white. She used chocolate chip and wild wasabi ink. She colored the flower in using the blender pen and the watercolor pencils. She added a bit of dazzling diamonds on the flower. She used the ticket corner punch and the cutter kit to rough up the edges too! She finished it of with the wild wasabi striped ribbon!

The second card she made was for my husband and me!! It was for our anniversary which was last week!!! We have been married for 8 years!! She used Wanted, Polka Dots and Paisleys, and the Fast and Fun Notes stamp sets. She used Pixie Pink, Pretty in Pink, and Whisper White card stock. For ink, she used cameo coral, chocolate chip, and pixie pink. She also used the new scallop edge punch, the scallop circle punch and the word window punch. The ribbon is pretty in pink 1/4" grosgrain ribbon. I love how she created the one scallop circle with the rock-n-roll technique and the rhinestone in the middle! She also used the Cuttlebug embossing folder called D'vine Swirl.
Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a very creative day!!! Oh and any comments are appreciated and I will pass them along to my mother-in-law!!! :O)

Friends

I created this card for a friend of mine. I used the linen background stamp (retired) and Serene Spring (a new favorite) Level 2 hostess stamp set. Oh yeah and the butterfly on the background is from Dreams du Jour, another new favorite set. I used kraft, chocolate chip, whisper white, and perfect plum card stock. For inks, I used perfect plum, close to cocoa, and black stazon. To color the image I used the water color pencils and a blender pen. I used the new scallop edge punch and the photo corner punch. I wanted a little sparkle, so I added some dazzling diamonds with my 2-way glue pen to the butterfly and bird on the main image. I also roughed up the edges of the main image with my cutter kit! Love that tool!!!

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a very creative day!!!

Yummy Birthday

This is a birthday card made for my husband's uncle. I used Splitcoaststampers sketch challenge SC186 and color challenge CC171. For the stamp sets I used Birthday Whimsy from the Holiday mini and they saying is from It's your Birthday, both sets are now retired. I still love using them!!! I used soft sky (retired in color), kraft, basic black, and whisper white card stock. I then used basic black and soft sky (retired again) classic ink. I used a so saffron marker for the flame on the candle. For the cake and candles I also used 2-way glue and dazzling diamonds. I popped the cake using dimensionals. I also used the ticket corner punch and some black brads for a fun touch!!

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a very creative day!!!

I am going to miss them both so much!!! But I am excited about the new In Colors! I also used Splitcoaststampers sketch challenge SC188 and color challenge CC178. The colors of card stock that I used were very vanilla, river rock, wild wasabi, and blue bayou. I used chocolate chip ink. I also used the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder, my sponge for the main image, and the spiral punch. I then used my cutter kit from SU to rough up the edges. I glued all of the layers together and popped the main image with dimesionals!

Candle with Rub-Ons

This yummy vanilla candle was part of the gift I gave at the bridal shower this past weekend! I got the candle at Joann's. I used the Eastern Elegance rub-ons from Stampin' Up! I loved the saying and thought it would be perfect! I put a flower rub-on on each side of the saying. This was a quick and easy gift to create! It took maybe all of five minutes to personalize!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a super day!

Bridal Shower Hearts

I needed a quick bridal shower card so this is what I came up with! It was the first time I used the Glue Pad by Tsukineko. I used the Always stamp set from Stampin' Up! The card stock I used was whisper white, close to cocoa, and our new color Pink Pirouette. I love this new one!!! I used the new scalloped edge punch on the bottome of the close to cocoa cs. I used Cuttle Bug's Swiss Dots to emboss the dots. I had to use pretty in pink classic ink for the hearts, I do have that the pink pirouette ink yet. First I stamped the hearts in the ww, then I used the glue pad and stamped over them. I sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds on top!! It all worked!!! I mounted both the hearts and the pink pirouette cs with dimensionals.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a creative day!
