Finally....

Wow! This week has been sooo crazy! Between the power going on and off, snow, rain, my kids getting into every thing, and so many other little things going on, I have not been able to get the stamps out! And the worst part is that I have been wanting to because I got a fantastic box of goodies from SU last Tuesday! Tonight is the first chance that I got to play!!! I know you can relate! Here is my first card in almost a week! The card's layout is from Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #32 (WSC#32). She has fantastic weekend sketch challenges and she is a great stamper! Please check out her site Fresh and Fun!

I picked one of my new sets to complete this challenge. Birthday Whimsy from the new Sale-A-Bration Catalog! It is a really cute set! You can get this set for FREE during Sale-A-Bration if you spend just $50 which starts Feb 1st - March 17th. This is only one of the ways to get ahold of this fabulouse set! Contact me if you would like to find out more!

All products are from Stampin' Up! except for the ribbon that I bought at Joann's. I started this card by picking out my colors! I chose whisper white, mellow moss, close to cocoa, and pretty in pink. I stamped the cake by first coloring the image with my stampin' write markers in pretty in pink, close to cocoa, mellow moss, and barely banana for the flames. The flames were too pale, so I colored them in with more mustard and added the barely banana around for a glow. I used my blender pen to color in the plate with close to cocoa ink pad. To add the shadow I used my gray watercolor pencil and a blender pen. You gotta love those blender pens!!! I stamped the saying in close to cocoa and then matted both on to the card stock. I used my ticket corner punch and brads to add some accents. I also used my 2-way glue pen and dazzling diamonds to add some bling to the card. For the background I used the present stamp with VersaMark ink. I then added the ribbon for the final touch!

Thank you so much for looking! Enjoy!!!

Kari-

I just love the "glow" idea for the candles. It's those little touches that make your cards so special! I waited all week to see your new card, I really want some SAB free sets now too!
