I created this birthday card using Beate's @ Fresh and Fun Weekend Sketch Challenge #66 and Splitcoast's Color Challenge CC188. The colors are Pink Pirouette, Basic Black, and Whisper White.
I just love this color combo!
The cake is from Fun & Fast Notes and the saying is from the retired set It's Your Birthday. I use pink pirouette, basic black, and whisper white card stock. I also used the Bella Rose Designer Series Paper. I used back black ink for the cake image and the saying.
I colored the cake in with my blender pen and a pink pirouette ink refill, a barely banana marker. The plate is colored in with a blender pen and basic black ink. I used 2-way glue and dazzling diamonds on the cake. After I layered the cake onto the black, I used dimensionals to make that element pop. To create the two flowers, I used a punch from Target, another larger flower punch. Then I added a pink rhinestones from Kaiser Scrapbook to each flower.
Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a very creative day!!!

Precious New Baby

I made this card using Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #57 (WSC57). She has great sketch challenges every Friday!!
I used the Fun and Fast Notes stamp set from Stampin' Up! For card stock I used Close to Cocoa, Whisper White, and the retired in color Soft Sky. The dp is also retired. It is from the set called Spring Fling. ( I love this set of papers! Great colors!) I used chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon and ink. I colored the carriage with soft sky ink and a blender pen along with a certainly celery marker. I also used the dazzling diamonds and 2-way glue pen. I used the scallop edge punch and the word window punch. I used the chocolate chip marker to create the dots on the top. I also use dimensionals to pop the main image up!!
Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a very creative day!!!

Baby Shower Card and Onesies

I love the new baja breeze ribbon from Stampin' Up! And I love this combo... Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, and Close to Cocoa. I made this card for a friend's baby shower!
The stamp sets I used were Fun & Fast Notes and Riveted (which is retired). For inks I used Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, and Chocolate Chip. And for card stock I used Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Close to Cocoa, and Whisper White. This was my first chance to use some of the new designer paper from the catalog. It's called Bella Rose. For the main image, I used the blender pen with the Baja Breeze and Kiwi Kiss and then the white gel pen. I used the ticket corner punch and then used dimensionals to layer it onto the other layers. I created the saying by using the 1 1/4 and the 1 3/8 circle punches! I also cut out the circle for the diaper pin and attached it with another dimensional. For the rest of the card I used the 1 3/8 square punch and punched out squares from the Bella Rose dp and Baja Breeze (embossed with Cuttlebug's Swiss Dots folder). I attached those to the close to cocoa cs. I also added the new Baja Breeze striped ribbon!
Sorry about the bad picture, but I also wanted to show you the onesies that I stamped for part of the gift!!! I took this right before I ran out the door for the shower because I forgot to take a picture earlier. Anyway, I used the Bugs and Kisses set and Best Friends Alphabet Lower (retired). I used burnt umber and water lily green Palette Hybrid ink (not from SU). Before I started stamping on them, I washed them and then put them in the dryer with no fabric softner. From what I read this part is important. On the first one I stamped the little one's name along with some bugs. I also stamped some ants on the sleeves on both of them. You can't really see the other one, (sorry!!) but I stamped three of the bugs and the then the saying "bugs and kisses" underneath them. On the back of both of the onesies, I stamped the saying "Cute as a Bug" from the same set!!! I also heat set them in the dryer for 15 minutes to set the ink. I tied them up with the baja breeze striped ribbon.
Love that baja breeze striped ribbon!!!!
Thanks so much for stopping by and I wish you a very creative day!!!

A Tweet Thank You!

I made this card a few days ago. It is a card for one of my uplines to thank her. She is a wonderful and very talented woman!
All products are from Stampin' Up! I used the bird stamp from the Fun & Fast Notes set and the thank you from the Much Appreciated set. I used started out with the dp from Flowers for You and went with that to coordinate my colors for the rest of the card. I used Lovely Lilac and Tempting Turquoise cs. I also used whisper white cs too! I make the scalloped edge I used my 3/4 inch circle punch and a piece of the Sticky Strip. I first placed the strip on the back of the lovely lilac cs and then pealed off the red strip to expose the sticky tape. I then placed the circles right next to each other. For the bird and the saying, I stamped them in Stazon black. I used my blender pen along with pixie pink, garden green, and sky blue classic ink pads to color in the bird. I also used my so saffron marker to color in the beak. I thought that I would make the bird pop a bit my using my blender pen and the basic gray ink pad to shade around the bird. To the flower, I attached a pink rhinestone brad from the fire collection. I attached all of this to the tempting turquoise and then popped that layer with some dimensionals.
I enjoyed making this card because I used colors that I do not normally use, but really like! Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

A Sweet Baby Boy Card

This is a little card I made for a friend of mine who just had a precious little boy a few days ago!
All products are from Stampin' Up! I used whisper white and blue bayou card stock. For the background I used a piece of the retired Wintergreen dsp. The carriage is from the Fun & Fast notes set. The saying is from the retired hostess Riveting set. I
stamped both images with Blue Bayou classic ink. On the saying I stamped off the inner circle to get the color lighter. I also used my stamp-a-ma-jig to place this inner circle just right. Then I used my blender pen to color in some of the spot with the same ink. I used dazzling diamonds and my 2-way glue pen to create some fun accents on the carriage and saying. I punched out the saying with the 1 1/4 circle punch. Then layered it on top of a piece of blue bayou cs that I punched out with the designer label punch. I added a piece of blue bayou double stitched ribbon to the main image, then layered it with more blue bayou cs. I used my ticket corner punch too. To create the scallops on the bottom of the background I used my corner rounder punch.
One of my new favorite colors is blue bayou! Can you tell! Thanks for looking! Enjoy!

Birthday Bouquet

Here is a card I created for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #31. I love her challenges! She has a fantastic blog as well! Click here to see it!!! This card was so much fun to create! I love how all the colors turned out! This was also one of the first times that I have been able to use watercolor pencils from Stampin' UP! Wow they are so much fun! I love how they turned out. Check out the close up!
All products are from Stampin' Up! (except for the flowers from an EK Success punch and a $1 Target punch for the smaller ones and the brads which are from Joann's). I started by choosing the stamps that I wanted to use. I knew that I wanted to use the watercolor pencils and double lined images go really well with that medium. So Fun & Fast Notes was the set I chose! I used black Stazon ink to stamp the image and colored it in with the watercolor pencils and the blender pen. The colors I used for that helped me to decide what colors I was going to use for the rest of the card. I ended up with pretty in pink, certainly celery, whisper white, and orchid opulence. I also used the swirls from Priceless to create some texture on the strip in versamark and pretty in pink ink for the background of the card.
I love how the watercolor pencils turned out! Oh wait I already said that!! But I do! Thanks for looking and enjoy!

A Tweet Thanks

This is a card that I have been playing around with for a while. I would add things and then take things away. Well here is the final product...I think?? What do you think? I do love the colors. Ok, I was not going to do this, but I am posting I guess what would be a before and after....The first picture is the final product. The second is a close up of that and the third was what I first created.
All products are from Stampin' Up!, except for the antique copper brads which are from Making Memories! The stamps are from the set Fun & Fast Notes and the coordinating wheel, Fast Flowers. I chose blush blossom to be the base of the card. I then used close to cocoa, mellow moss, and very vanilla. I used my corner rounder for the scallops and the two corners of the main image. I also used my mat pack and the paper piercer for the corners and the horizontal strip of mellow moss. I got to use one of my favorite punches, the round tab punch for the saying! I stamped the image and the saying with close to cocoa to match the background. I used blush blossom, mellow moss, pale plum, and barely banana pastels to color in the sweet little bird with the flower. I also used versamark to create the background. I also used clear embossing powder and my heating tool.
Well what do you think?
Thanks for looking and enjoy!

Tuesday, January 1, 2008
I made this for a close friend of mine. (Everything is made from Stampin' Up! products unless noted otherwise.) I started with white cardstock (not from SU), then stamped the bird with a flower from Fast and Fun Notes in basic black and the thank you from Much Appreicated in old olive. I colored the bird and the flower with Pretty in Pink and old olive for the stem. I attached three flowers (I am not sure where I got them) with antiqued copper brads from Making Memories and one brad on the stamped flower. I then used the ticket corner punch (which I love) to accent the corners. If you look really close I also used the Color Spritzer with pretty in pink over the images to tie it all together! I then matted it to close to cocoa and attached all of it to the white cardstock(from Joanns) for the card.
