A Bright Birthday

Here is a fun and easy birthday card to make! I used several stamps from the Priceless stamp set along with the saying from the retired set called It's Your Birthday. I wanted to challenge myself to use the bold brights with this card. I have a hard time using any of those colors. Love them all, but they are still a challenge for me!

I used whisper white, real red, and pink passion card stock. I used pixie pink, real red, and green galore classic ink. And then for a bit of fun I added Dazzling Diamonds with the 2-way Glue pen! I tied a bow with red grosgrain ribbon to the top of the card and there you have it! A quick and easy birthday card in bright colors!

Birthday Cards

My sister and I got a chance to stamp! Here is what we created!

This first card I made for my brother's birthday!!! This was a fast card to make too! I used SU's set called Hit the Road!! This set is so cute! I stamped it on watercolor paper with Stazon Black ink. I colored in the image with my aqua painter (LOVE that tool!) using baja breeze, pacific point, chocolate chip, and basic gray classic inks. I used the barely banana marker for the lights and basic black marker for some of the wheels. The base of the card is chocolate chip card stock. I layered the main image with baja breeze and pacific point. The saying if from the retired set called It's Your Birthday. I stamped this onto whisper white card stock and then punched it with the wide oval punch. I used the paper piercing tool to add dots to the top and the bottom of the saying and to the corner above the jeep. I layered that with two punched out 1 3/4 circles.

My sister created a card for a friend's birthday! Here is what she came up with! The raccoon is from the Under the Stars set. The saying if from the retired set called It's Your Birthday. She used whisper white, real red, and basic black card stock. For ink, she used Stazon black and real red. She colored in the raccoon with gray. She paper pierced the corners of her card with the paper piercing tool and the mat pack! I love how it came out! She did a great job!

Kiwi Kissed Manly Birthday Card

What do you think of my title? I know it is silly, but I thought it was fun! I made this card with one of the new sets my husband picked out for me for Christmas! The set is Lovely as a Tree! I also used It's Your Birthday, which is retired, for the saying. I made this card for my dad's birthday.

I used chocolate chip, kiwi kiss, tangerine tango and very vanilla card stock. I started by stamping my image in kiwi kiss ink pad, then coloring on the stamp with my chocolate chip marker for the tree trunk and limbs. I stamped the image on the paper. I then colored in the tree with my blender pen and kiwi kiss ink. I sponged the edges of the image with chocolate chip. I layered the image and used dimensionals to pop the two layers. For the background strips I used versamark. On the tangerine tango piece I used my tried and true, but retired, linen background stamp. For the kiwi kiss strip, I used the leaf stamp from Lovely as a Tree. I punched out 1 1/2 squares with the 1 3/4 square punch (this was a little bit bigger than my saying) to make a window. I placed vanilla card stock on the inside. Then stamped they saying in tangerine tango. I made sure that you would be able to see it through the window!!

A Pink Pirouette Birthday

I created this birthday card using Beate's @ Fresh and Fun Weekend Sketch Challenge #66 and Splitcoast's Color Challenge CC188. The colors are Pink Pirouette, Basic Black, and Whisper White.
I just love this color combo!

The cake is from Fun & Fast Notes and the saying is from the retired set It's Your Birthday. I use pink pirouette, basic black, and whisper white card stock. I also used the Bella Rose Designer Series Paper. I used back black ink for the cake image and the saying. I colored the cake in with my blender pen and a pink pirouette ink refill, a barely banana marker. The plate is colored in with a blender pen and basic black ink. I used 2-way glue and dazzling diamonds on the cake. After I layered the cake onto the black, I used dimensionals to make that element pop. To create the two flowers, I used a punch from Target, another larger flower punch. Then I added a pink rhinestones from Kaiser Scrapbook to each flower.

Black and White Birthday

I made this birthday card for my sister in so many ways, Gaylyn! She loves anything french and anything black and white!!! The layout is from Splitcoaststampers challenge SC182. The colors are from for the color challenge CC05 from Splitcoast too! I just love this combo!! First I punched out all the scalloped squares using 2 sizes from the Cuttlebug Scallop Squares dies. I used SU's retired Carte Postal set. I stamped basic black ink on to the whisper white card stock. I also used basic black card stock and marker. I used the saying from the retired It's Your Birthday set. I also used my ticket corner punch for the saying. I then arranged all of the squares, glued them on, and then used dimensionals for the center square. And that was that! I am very pleased with the outcome!!! I hope she likes it too!

P.S. She loved it!!! :O)

Birthday Hearts

I decided to try another one of the fantastic Color Inspiration challenges from Kristina Werner.
WOW! This one was hard for me!!! Definately a challenge!!! It took me a long time to come up with something that I was happy with! What do you think???
The colors for this challenge were Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Rose Red, Regal Rose, and Whisper White. I only have the two in colors for inks, so this challenge was hard. I got around that fact by using Versamark on the each different color of card stock. I stamped the hearts from Priceless and then cut then out. I layered them with dimensionals too! I stamped the saying from the retired It's Your Birthday set in kiwi kiss using my stamp-a-ma-jig to get it in the right place. I also used the scallop edge punch and the 1/16" hole punch to create a fun edge. I then tied whisper white taffeta ribbon around the top.

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a very creative day!!!

Cruisin' Birthday

This is a card that I made for my nephew who turned 10!!! I thought the truck would make a fun card for him!

I used the Loads of Love stamp set along with the Punch Pals set to add the presents in the back of the truck. The saying was from the retired It's Your Birthday set. I started with chocolate chip, baja breeze, whisper white and a bit of kiwi kiss card stock. I ran the baja breeze piece through the Cuttlebug's Swiss dots embossing folder. I also used Spellbinders Nestabilites to create the ovals for the main image. I embossed the edges of the ovals too! I stamped the truck and the saying in chocolate chip. I colored the truck in with baja breeze ink, the ground with kiwi kiss ink, and a blender pen. I used a gel pen (Thanks again Beverly!!!) for the bumper and dazzling diamonds for the wheels!!! I stamped the presents and cut them out for the back of the truck. I wrapped chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon around the center and added my brads to the corners. I had already cut out a slot for the round tab. For the tab part I just stamped the saying and added the tab punched from the round tab punch! Oh yeah and I added the brads again!!!

Yummy Birthday

This is a birthday card made for my husband's uncle. I used Splitcoaststampers sketch challenge SC186 and color challenge CC171. For the stamp sets I used Birthday Whimsy from the Holiday mini and they saying is from It's your Birthday, both sets are now retired. I still love using them!!! I used soft sky (retired in color), kraft, basic black, and whisper white card stock. I then used basic black and soft sky (retired again) classic ink. I used a so saffron marker for the flame on the candle. For the cake and candles I also used 2-way glue and dazzling diamonds. I popped the cake using dimensionals. I also used the ticket corner punch and some black brads for a fun touch!!

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a very creative day!!!

Quick Father's Birthday card

It was my father-in-laws birthday not to long ago and I realized that I needed a card quick! I had only a few minutes to get one made for him. I thought the Noble Deer set would be perfect! I picked my set, now all I needed was the color scheme!! That can be so hard sometimes!! But I quickly decided on very vanilla, chocolate chip, and mellow moss. I ran the chocolate chip card stock through my Sizzix machine using the Cuttle Bug Perfect Paisley embossing folder. I stamped both the image and the saying in chocolate chip. I used a saying from the set "It's Your Birthday" (which will be retiring very soon!). Then I used my ticket corner punch for the corners. I attached all of the pieces. And that was it! The card was done! He loved it!!!

Now looking back at the card I probably could have sponged the edges with chocolate chip to give it an aged look!! I still really like how the it turned out!! Oh and sorry about the picture, I took it in the car on the way to dinner!!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!!

Tulip Whimsy Birthday

This card was made for a friend of mine for her birthday! Garden Whimsy is such a fun set to use!!

All products are from Stampin' Up! I used the Garden Whimsy and It's Your Birthday sets. I used whisper white, perfect plum and pretty in pink card stock. I colored the tulip stamp with pretty in pink, mellow moss, and coral pink (on the tips of the flower) with my markers. I used the Rock & Roll technique on the butterfly. I first stamped it in perfect plum and then stamped off to get a lighter color. Then I rolled the edges of the stamp in the same ink. I cut out the butterfly. I stamped the saying in perfect plum and used my 1 3/8 circle punch. I attached that to the scallop circle. Then I mounted both the saying and the butterfly with dimensionals. I layered the tulip with pretty in pink and perfect plum. I also used the ticket corner punch. The background of the card is stamped in pretty in pink and perfect plum.

I love how this card turned out! I love the color combo!

Thanks for looking! I also have been working on some swaps using this same stamp set! I will post that a little later! Have a great day!!!

Always A Birthday

I finally got to stamp a card!! Things have been quite crazy around here!!! I have not had a chance to stamp or visit any blogs or even keep up with my email!!!

Here is the card that I just made for a friend's birthday! I had to make it so that it would go out with the mail today!!! All products are from Stampin' Up except were noted! I used the Always and It's Your Birthday stamp sets! I used pretty in pink, mellow moss, whisper white, and chocolate chip card stock. I used my mellow moss and pretty in pink markers to color in the flower. I then cut it out and mounted it on to the same heart stamped in chocolate chip with dimensionals. (I love how the heart turned out!) I then layered that onto some mellow moss. I stamped the saying in mellow moss and punched it out with my 1 3/8 circle punch. I mounted that with dimensionals to a mellow moss punched out scallop circle. And then used the dimensionals again to attach that to the background. The background is embossed with the Cuttle Bug Perfect Paisley folder. The ribbon is 5/8 grosgrain in chocolate chip. That is all layered onto a piece of chocolate chip. I also inked up some of the edges with chocolate chip ink. I used the ticket corner punch on all of the corners!

Thanks for looking and have a fantastic day!!!

Pine Cone Birthday

Here is my card for Beate's wonderful Weekend Sketch Challenge #44 (WSC44)! It's an easy guy card to make. This is a birthday card that I created for my brother-in-law. Thanks for the great challenge!

All products used are from Stampin' Up! I used Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Really Rust, and Wild Wasabi card stock. I stamped the pine cone from the Noble Deer set in garden green and then use my chocolate chip marker to color in the pine cones and branch. I then stamped my image on the cs. I used my scoring tool to create the lines that frame the branch. The gave the effect I was looking for. I then stamped the saying in garden green and punched it out with the designer label punch. I sponged both with creamy caramel. After punching out the saying, I thought that it needed more, so I added another layer. Instead of trying to cut around the punch I punched out a 1 3/8 circle and cut a rectangle and attached those two together. This worked perfectly. I stamped the pine branch the dots (from the Polka Dots and Paisley set) in versamark on the background panels.

Thanks so much for looking! Have fun stamping!!!

Penguin Birthday Greetings

Ok...So I tried to post this earlier, but time just flew by!!! :O) I made this card for the Splitcoast Stampers Color Combination 148 (CC148). The color combination was Wild Wasabi, Barely Banana, and Blue Bayou. I had a special little person in mind when making this card which made it all the more fun to create!!! These are his favorite colors!

All products are Stampin' Up! I started by deciding what paper I wanted to use. I ended up choosing plain card stock of all three colors and then one piece of blue bayou designer series paper. Oh I grabbed a little bit of whisper white too. I then got out my Punch Pals and It's Your Birthday sets. And I was off!!! I stamped the penguin and presents in blue bayou ink onto whisper white. I colored him in with my blender pen using the same ink pad. I used my barely banana pen for the rest. I cut these out and mounted them with dimensionals to the barely banana cs. I paper pierced the corner using my mat pack to get the dots just right. Love this effect! Then I mounted it to the dp and to the wild wasabi cs. I used the same ink for the saying that I stamped onto wild wasabi. I used the paper piercer and the mat pack again!!! :O) I mounted that onto the barely banana cs. Then placed it all on to the blue bayou cs!!

And it is done! I thought this turned out so cute! And I know that little guy who gets this will love it too! Ok so finally off to bed!!! :O)

A Simple Birthday Card

Here is a fun, but simple birthday card! I love the combination of pink, black, and white! I used one of my most favorite sets, Priceless from Stampin' Up!, to create this card. All products are from Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

First I stamped the circle with the flower in it using classic black and pretty in pink on to white cs. I punched them out using the 1 1/4 circle punch. Then I cut out the pink flower and attached it with a black brad from Making Memories to the other circle and the pretty in pink scalloped flower (from the scallop punch). I then placed this onto the white cs using dimensionals to pop it out. I used the ticket corner punch. I matted this to pretty in pink cs and added ribbon from Michaels. I stamped the saying from It's Your Birthday. I also added black brads to the corners!!! Then I placed it all on top of black and then white cs.

This card did not take a long time to make at all! Enjoy!

A Guy's Birthday Card

I find it hard to come up with guy cards for any occassion. I usually have to sit and ponder for a while until I come up with an idea. Well my wonderful husband gave me the Happy Camper set from Stampin' Up! for Christmas and the creativity started to flow. I love this set. It is sooo cute! So here is a birthday card from it.

All products used are Stampin' Up! All the stamps are from the Happy Camper set except for the saying which is from the It's Your Birthday set. I started with whisper white card stock and stamped the fire and trailer in chocolate chip. Then I stamped the smoke twice on a scratch sheet and then on the card with black to make it look gray. I stamped the trees in old olive multiple times to give it dimension while masking the trailer and the fire. I stamped the trailer in pumpkin pie on a separate paper, cut it out, and glued it on. I used the Stampin' Pastels to color in the ground, smoke, trees, and the sky. I used barely banana and real red stampin' write markers to color in the fire. I mounted both the saying and the image onto Blue Bayou card stock. Before mounting it all onto the card I added a strip of close to cocoa cs (card stock) to the card and then glued it all together with snail adhesive. Oh yeah...and I rounded the corners with a corner rounder to tie it all together.

Enjoy!!!
