Happy Valentine's Day

Ten years ago today my husband asked me to marry him! I can not believe it! We live in the mountains and he loves to go off-roading...so that is what he wanted to do in the morning. We stopped by this very large, very tall rock. He told me that he wanted to climb it. So we start walking up it. Then we came up to a latter that takes you to the very top.  As he helped me up the latter I still had NO idea what he was about to do. Once up on top of this very large rock the view was amazing.  I was enjoying it,  taking it in when all at once he got down on one knee and asked me those wonderful words. He also said, and I quote, "I wanted to give you a rock on top of a rock." It was very sweet. Later that evening we went to a very nice dinner. It is a day I will always remember. So this card is for him!

I used the sets Friends 24-7 and Short & Sweet. I used kraft, very vanilla, chocolate chip, and pink pirouette card stock. The ink used was chocolate chip classic ink. I stamped the flourish then attached the crumbled 1 1/4 circle  with a pretty in pink Sending Love Epoxy brad. I also attached the aged tag with the sentiment. I used the eyelet border punch to create the lace. I used the stamp pad  and my nail to age the edges of the card. I also used the color spritzer tool with a chocolate chip marker to help age the paper too.

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a very creative day!!!

Hearts, Hearts, and More Hearts

Fun Hearts! I started with the main image of hearts. I stamped the hearts from the set Tiny Tags (in the new Occasions Mini Catalog) on to whisper white card stock with real red, rose red, and regal rose classic ink. I used Dazzling Diamonds, 2-way Glue, and Stampin' Dimensionals on one of the hearts. The tab of ribbon is real red grosgrain ribbon. Then the image is layered on textured real red card stock and then on basic black. The sentiment is from the Short & Sweet set and stamped in rose red classic ink.

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a very creative day!!!

A Trio of Hearts

I finally got to play one of the weekly sketch challenges over at Splitcoaststampers. This one was this weeks challenge, SC267. These challenges are fun to do!

I thought this layout would be great for some hearts and what better time then now to make a Valentine card. I was trying to go for a vintage feel for this one. I don't know if I got it or not, but I do like how it turned out. I started off with kraft, chocolate chip, ruby red, and very vanilla card stock. I used the stamp sets Friends 24-7 and Vintage Labels (a new FREE set from Sale-a-bration, ask me how you can get it). I used ruby red, old olive, and chocolate chip classic inks. For the punches I used the Curly Label punch, the Heart to Heart punch, the Eyelet Boarder punch, and the Modern Label punch. I also used the Big Shot and the Stampin' Up! Background 1 texture plates to add an element of embossing to the ruby red card stock behind the main image. As for the hearts, I stamped the flower image and colored them in with the Stampin' Pastels. Then I used the color spritzer tool with markers that matched the inks I used. I also added Stampin' Dimensionals to make the hearts pop.

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a very creative day!!!

Medallion Love

I absolutely love how simple this card is, yet how elegant it looks. And it can be made in seconds when you need something add you are running out the door. I used (borrowed from my sil and now love) the Medallion background stamp from Stampin' Up! I used the rock-n-roll technique to give the image a fun look. I used pretty in pink and rose red classic ink pads. I also used the pretty in pink marker in the center of the medallion to make the center a bit darker. The saying is from Short & Sweet and stamped in rose red.

A Rainbow of Hearts

Here are two versions of a rainbow heart card that I made. The simplicity of these cards are so fun! The card stock used is whisper white, basic black, real red, pumpkin pie, yoyo yellow, glorious green, tempting turquoise, brilliant blue, and lovely lilac. I used the small heart punch for all the lovely hearts. I used the white gel pen to create the square around the edge. I wrote the words "love you" for the first card and used the same saying from the stamp set all Short & Sweet in Whisper White craft ink for the second card.

Heart Flower

Wow! I am on a roll! Two posts in two days!
I am loving creating Valentine's cards this year! This was a fun one to create! I started with kraft card stock for the base of the card. Then blush blossom for the base behind the flower. The flower is made from so saffron, ruby red, and mellow moss card stock. The heart of the flower was made from the new Stampin' Up! Embosslits Die called Scalloped Heart of Hearts and the Heart punch found in the Occasions Mini catalog. I popped the heart with Stampin' Dimensionals. I made the stem of the flower with the scallop edge punch and the leaves with the 1 3/4 circle punch. The ribbon is the retired So Saffron grosgrain ribbon. The edge is very vanilla card stock and the eyelet boarder punch. The saying is from Teeny Tiny Wishes (such a great set) stamped in Rose Red classic ink. The edges of the card are sponged with whisper white craft ink. And oh yeah...can not forget that corner rounder punch to finish it all off

Matchbox Valentine

How have you been? Have you had a chance to create something fun lately? I have and I can not wait to share it with you! My sister-in-law is here visiting me and we have been creating so many fun things!!! She is my upline too so you can imagine the trouble that we are getting into!

With Valentine's just around the corner I wanted to made something yummy! Here is one of the items that I have been working on! A Valentine's treat box made out from Stampin' Up!'s exclusive Sizzix die called Stampin' Up! Matchbox. So cute and easy to make....only takes a few minutes to create this great little package. This is a wonderful gift idea for a friend, kid, teacher, boss and so on.

This box uses regal rose, real red, whisper white, and rich razzleberry card stock. I embossed the outside of the box with the swirls from the Stampin' Up! Backgrounds 1 Texturz Plates. I added the polka dot rich razzleberry ribbon. I created the label using the phrase from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamped in rich razzleberry. I used the word window and the modern label punches. I used the scalloped oval punch to create a window and then put a clear window sheet. I also punched out hearts from the Heart to Heart punch. I wanted to add some shine so I added some Dazzling Diamonds to the edge of my label and the hearts! For the chocolate nuggets inside, I just stamped onto address mailing labels using a phrase from Teeny Tiny Wishes and images from Tiny Tags (from Occasions Mini). I used rich razzleberry, real red, and melon mambo classic inks. I then just wrapped the labels around the chocolates! Simple and easy! A great way to some more fun to your great packaging!

Priceless Valentine

Happy Valentine's Day!!!!

Here is my entry for Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration #41.This card is for my wonderful hubby!

The sketch is from this weeks Sketch Challenge over at Splitcoast (SC215). I thought this was a great sketch!

I used the Priceless stamp set for this card. One of my all time favorite sets!!! I used riding hood red, basic grey, basic black and whisper white card stock. For ink, I used Stazon black and riding hood red. I used the Swiss Dots embossing folder from Cuttlebug and a black and white polka dot ribbon from Jo-Ann's. I stamped the vertical strip and attached the ribbon. Then ran the grey cs through the Sizzix machine with the folder. The stamped the hearts and cut one out so that I could pop it up. Then I stamped the saying. I mounted the main image and the popped heart with dimensionals. I also added a little bit of Stickles to the popped heart! What do you think?

Love You Hearts

With Valentine's Day just around the corner, I thought it was about time that I made a card or two. Here is my first card! I used Stampin' Up!'s retired set called Happy Hearts! This is one fantastic set! For the saying I used the Short & Sweet set!

I stamped four hearts in riding hood red and then punched them out with the 1 1/4 circle punch. I then punched 1 3/8 circles out of riding hood red. I mounted the heart circles with dimensionals. I used the 2-way glue pen and Dazzling Diamonds on one of the hearts. I stamped the saying in the same color and then punched that and the riding hood red cs with the word window punch. I used dimensionals again to pop the word. I placed all of this on to a pretty in pink piece of card stock that I ran through my Sizzix machine with the Swiss Dots embossing folder from Cuttlebug. I also used the scallop edge punch too! I added white grosgrain ribbon. I used the slot punch to do this. Then this all went on to the base which was whisper white card stock!

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a very creative day!!!
